Thatgamecompany Goes Multiplatform

The Journey developer will now create games for multiple platforms

Thatgamecompany, known for their work on Flow, Flower, and Journey, will be making the transition to multiplatform development. The studio's co-founder, Jenova Chen, has announced that they have raised $5.5 million dollars thanks to Benchmark Capital, which is enough to allow the studio to pursue independent ventures.

Since their start in 2006, Thatgamecompany has been creating games for Sony Computer Entertainment America as a part of a three game publishing agreement, which was fulfilled with the release of Journey. The studio is working on something new, but no details have been announced at this time. Chen only offered that his team is "very excited about [their] new adventure" and will offer more news about it "soon."
