New Persona 3 PSP Details
Famitsu blog talks characters, loading time, and more.
New details were released today about the upcoming PSP adaptation of Atlus' Persona 3 courtesy of the Persona Portable Blog on Famitsu.
We've known for a while now that instead of the maps being 3D (like they were in the PS2 version) they will be 2D. The blog explains that load time was a large consideration when making the PSP version, so to avoid long loading periods the switch to 2D was made.
We also knew about the addition of a female protagonist in addition to the male. Regarding the female characters in the PSP version, their bustline have all been intentionally enhanced, as have all of the characters facial features to help "flesh out the story."
UMD installation will be another added feature for those who purchase a physical copy of the game. While players will still need to pop the UMD into the drive, the intended purpose is to alleviate longer loading times and put less stress on the UMD drive.
Finally for those who have already played through the Persona 3 storyline once and don't wish to read all of the text again, Persona 3 PSP will feature high-speed message skipping.
Persona 3 PSP will release in Japan on November 1 of this year.
