Silent Hill: Shattered Memories Reportedly Slipping Further Into 2009

Silent Hill gets pushed back a month.... or two, according to some retailers.

The release date for Silent Hill: Shattered Memories has been postponed from its original November 3 date. However, no retailer has listed corresponding dates yet, giving prospective purchasers a smattering of dates spanning from November 3 to December 31.

At the time of posting, Target, GameCrazy, and Amazon retain the November 3 release date for all systems. Toys R Us also has a November 3 date, but only for the Wii, and does not list the game for PSP and PS2. GameStop has all three versions listed for December 8. Walmart lists a November 24 date for the Wii version, but a December 25 release for both the PSP and PS2 versions. GameFly in a similar manner, pins the Wii version with a November 26 release with the PSP and PS2 versions listed for December 31.

Yeah, this is a bit disappointing. I'm definitely not the world's biggest Silent Hill fan, but this one actually seems pretty cool based on my time with the E3 demo. In my opinion, the combat has always been the worst part of the series, and this game totally ditched it in favor of a more streamlined experience.

It's too bad that we're going to have to wait.

This would've been perfect for Halloween. Way to suck, Konami.
