Dragon's Lair Coming to DSiWare

A German game ratings website spilled the beans.

A DSiWare version of the classic laser disc game, Dragon's Lair is on its way according to Destructoid who found the information via a German game rating site.

Specific details regarding the game and any possible changes to the gameplay, graphics, etc or whether it will be exactly the same as the original, have not yet been released.

For those who don't know much about Dragon's Lair, it was originally a laser disc arcade game released back in 1983 by Cinematronics. It followed the story of Dirk the Daring who was on a quest to save Princess Daphne from the evil dragon Singe.

The game itself was revolutionary for its time due to its implementation of animations, created by Disney animator Don Bluth, instead of sprites which games of that era typically used. However the maintence required to sustain the life of the laser disk arcade system proved too much for many, and it was eventually phased out.

Since then, Dragon's Lair has been released on many different consoles including the Commodore 64, NES, Sega CD, Atari Jaguar, and Game Boy Color, among many others.

This seems sensical, but it won't do much for me unless Don Bluth animation is used.

What a big surprise, Dragon's Lair coming to another effing console. Seriously, how many versions of this game exist at this point?
