Shadow of the Ninja and Other Classic Natsume Titles Virtual Console Bound?

The company met with Nintendo recently and discussed bringing some of their NES and SNES games to Virtual Console.

Natsume's Vice President of Operations Graham Markay told Siliconera that there is a strong possibility of classic Natsume games coming to Nintendo's Virtual Console.

"We recently had a meeting with Nintendo and one of the things we discussed was getting some more of our classic NES and SNES games out on Virtual Console,” Markay said. "Shadow of the Ninja is definitely high up on the list of titles that we’d like to release."

Natsume is responsible for many NES and SNES games, such as the two-player Ninja Gaiden-esque Shadow of the Ninja, the shooter S.C.A.T., platformer Pocky & Rocky, and some of the games from the RPG series Lufia.

Currently, Harvest Moon for SNES is the only Natsume game on Virtual Console.

I always liked Pocky & Rocky and I've heard fantastic things about Shadow of the Ninja.

Pocky & Rocky is one of those games that I studied for hours in Nintendo Power when I was a kid. Sadly, I've never actually had the opportunity to play it.

In the end, Retro has delivered a solid new entry in the series, but one that doesn’t totally capture what originally made the series so compelling.
