Unfortunately its looking like EA will probably be putting out more Charm Girls Club and Littlest Pet Shop games on Wii as opposed to high-concept affairs like Dead Space: Extraction. That's a shame.
September NPDs Show Poor Performance For Dead Space: Extraction
EA's guided first-person experience isn't selling as expected.
With the September 2009 NPDs out and being leaked, more information is coming in. Thanks to that, we can all see that it looks like EA's Dead Space: Extraction isn't selling too well.
According to the NPD leak, Dead Space: Extraction sold roughly 9,000 units in the few days it was available during the reported period.
Before the NPDs were released, a Visceral Games staffer commented on NeoGAF that "it is a shame nobody bought this. As much as everyone made fun of Frank Gibeau's "experiment" it will actually influence the SKU plan with respect to the Wii just like he said in his interview."
The experiment he refers to is EA Games President Frank Gibeau's previous statements about how Extraction is a "gamble" and that they will be watching sales closely to see how the M-rated game performs on Nintendo's system.
