Lumines May or May Not Come to PSP Go

Q Entertainment describes the problems with trying to release the title in digital form.

Many gamers have been wondering about classic titles becoming available for download on the PSP Go. One of those titles in particular is Lumines, a title first released back in 2005 on UMD for the PSP.

Lumines is a block-dropping game in which players must align similar colored blocks in order to make 2-by-2 squares, which then disappear. Since it's release Lumines has sold over 300,000 copies in North America and has even three sequels: Lumines Live!, Lumines II, and Lumines Supernova.

According to Q Entertainment, the developers of Lumines, they have been having some difficulty bringing the original Lumines/Lumines II to the PSP Go in digital form. According to their recent Twitter feeds, there are numerous reasons for the delay.

Apparently there are music licensing issues, as well as alternate opinions regarding a digital version between Q Entertainment and publisher Namco. Although they have seemingly hit a road block, Q Entertainment follows their original post up with the statement, "That said, we're obviously looking into it."
