PlayStation Network Update - 10/23/09

This week brings plenty of downloadable titles, extras, and add-ons.

Today's PSN Store update brings with it a ton of downloadable items including new games, wallpapers, videos, and more.

To start off the update, a few sales have gone live, including Burnout Paradise, now $14.99. The full Siren game, as part of a Halloween Sale is now $29.99 or $11.99 for each of the three pieces. Lumines Supernova has also received a permanent price drop to $9.99.

There are three new games available for download today including Trine, FrozenByte's newest adventure title in which up to four players can explore against a 2-D platform. Trine is rated E10+ and is available now for $19.99.

Two other downloadable titles are under the PSone Classics and can be downloaded for either the PS3 or PSP. The two titles are Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee, and Oddworld: Abe's Exodus. Both are rated T for Teen and can be purchased for $9.99 each.

A trio of demos have been released today, including the Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time Demo, Critter Crunch, and Dragon Ball: Raging Blast. For more information on Ratchet & Clank click here.

There is also a long list of add-on game content including new song lists for both Rock Band and Guitar Hero 5. FIFA Soccer 10 Live Season 2.9 All Leagues is available now for $9.99, the Lumines Supernova Add-on Bundle is $4.99, a Lumines Supernova Holiday pack can be purchased for $2.49, and head and apparel items can be downloaded for Way of the Samurai 3 at no cost.

Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Review

It’s been a long time since we’ve seen an entry in the Metroid Prime series - 18 years, in fact. It was 8 years ago that Metroid Prime 4 was originally announced and its development was more than a little turbulent. Initially developed by Bandai Namco, it was later scrapped completely and development was shifted back to Retro Studios to start the project over. In the end, Retro has delivered a solid new entry in the series, but one that doesn’t totally capture what originally made the series so compelling.
