Nintendo Officially Announces the DSi LL

A press event in Tokyo officially unveils Nintendo's latest.

Earlier this morning at a Tokyo Press Event, Nintendo officially unveiled their next version of the DSi, the DSi LL.

On Monday, it was rumored that the handheld would be announced and releasing this year in Japan. Nikkei News was apparently correct, as the LL is due for release on November 21. As promised, it will also retail for the same price as the DSi at ¥20,000.

According to Nintendo, the system was made at consumers' request. It will cater to those who want to use the system for Internet browsing, music playing, and a bigger font set.

The DSi LL will come with two stylus, one larger and one smaller, as well as three pre-installed titles, two from the Brain Age series, and the DS Easy Dictionary. Players can purchase the LL in Dark Brown, Wine Red or Natural White.

Well it's not surprising that this panned out to be true, but I will say that I'll have to see it and hold it before I really know how I feel about it. I'm still concerned about screen quality and pixelation, but hopefully if Nintendo did some good upscaling it'll look halfway decent.
