DSi XL to Hit US Shelves Early Next Year

A Nintendo PR representative confirms the expected.

Earlier today, the DSi LL was officially announced by Nintendo, and was also confirmed by Nintendo of Europe and given a launch window. Nintendo of America has followed suit and officially confirmed the DSi LL for the US.

According to Kotaku, their Nintendo PR representative provided them with some key information regarding the DSi LL's journey overseas. The first bit of information concerns the name; whereas in Japan the handheld console will be titled the DSi LL, it will release in the US as the DSi XL (LL and XL are analogous in Japan).

Also discussed was a potential release time frame, and according to the Nintendo PR representative, the US can expect the DSi XL to hit shelves during Q1 of 2010.

No further details were provided, with price of the system being the biggest unknown.

The person I'm referring to is, of course, Michael Alvarado, otherwise known as Michael117.
