Netflix Coming to Wii?

Apparently a "reliable source" has confirmed that it will.

Netflix made a splash in the gaming world earlier this week when they announced that streaming video would finally be coming to the PS3. With support already on the Xbox 360 and now PS3, many gamers wondered if the service would also be coming to Wii.

According to a recent report from Engadget, that is precisely what is going to happen. Apparently a reliable source close to the project has confirmed that Nintendo has been fidgeting around with Netflix streaming video on the Wii. It is assumed that if streaming video does come to Wii, it will most likely require the usage of a disc, similar to the way it will be handled on the PS3.

The source also added that an official announcement should be coming sometime in the near future as the product itself will be releasing "very soon."

I remember the survey floating around a while back gauging interest in Netflix on Wii and PS3. Given the PS3 launch coming next month, it's not too surprising that the Wii version might be coming soon.
