Blue Dragon: Awakened Shadow Coming to US

Known as Blue Dragon: Ikai no Kyojuu in Japan, the third game in the series will be available next year.

D3Publisher announced yesterday that they would be bringing Blue Dragon: Ikai no Kyojuu to America as Blue Dragon: Awakened Shadow. The DS title takes place two years after the original Xbox 360 game.

Players will no longer control Shu, but rather a character of your own creation. Players can choose gender, facial features, and clothing when creating their character, and the choices made will have an impact in the game, particularly with your shadow which will require changing throughout the game.

Unlike the original DS title, Blue Dragon Plus, Awakened Shadow will be a return to the more contemporary RPG form the original title was presented in.

Ikai no Kyojuu was originally published by Namco in Japan, making the title an easy localization choice for D3Publisher as they are a wholly owned subsidiary of the company.

Blue Dragon: Awakened Shadow will be available Spring 2010.
