Final Fantasy XIII Crystalium System Detailed

With the impending release of the title in Japan, Square Enix has detailed a major new system in the game.

Final Fantasy XIII won't be featuring character levels, but instead plans to offer a Crystalium System in order to power up your characters. The latest issue of Shonen Jump has details of the system from Square Enix.

According to andriasang, who translated the article, players will now earn Crystalium Points (CP) as they defeat enemies in battle. Players can then in turn use these points to unlock abilities as well as upgrade their user statistics, such as HP.

When players unlock new abilities it will start a tree where players can upgrade the ability buy purchasing one of the next items down the tree.

Shonen Jump did not have any other clear details, but more information will be coming soon.
