Kameo 2 Development Cancelled

The rumored game was apparently cancelled to make way for more Natal-based titles.

A source close to Microsoft has revealed that a sequel to the Xbox 360 launch title Kameo: Elements of Power, has been in development for quite some time now. However, the game has apparently been canceled in order to make way for more Natal-based titles.

While only a rumor at this point, CVG reports that a "source close to the platform holder" spoke with them revealing that the restructuring of game studios at Microsoft not only shut down Kameo 2, but several other "traditional franchise" sequels.

According to the unnamed source Kameo 2 was not only cancelled due to Natal development, but also because of the low sales numbers of Kameo: Elements of Power.

When CVG asked Microsoft about the situation, they responded with the typical, "Microsoft does not comment on rumour and speculation."

So freaking lame. This is a game that would've benefited greatly from a sequel. Hopefully development is reopened down the line.

I started thinking about Kameo: Elements of Power right now and I did a search look for any content about this game. I was rather disappointed to find out that a sequel was in the works but was canceled.

I played that game to completion and I believe I 100% it. The controls could be a bit odd but it was a great game. Definitely one of the better launch titles for the Xbox 360.

Sad panda.
