Smash TV May Come to Current Generation Consoles

A recent podcast with the original creators discusses the game's potential future.

Smash TV was a popular game that first graced arcades in 1990. After its success with the arcade demographic, Acclaim Entertainment acquired the publishing rights and began distributing the title on home consoles such as the NES, SNES, and Sega Game Gear.

In a recent podcast conducted by RacketBoy they sit down with the original creators of Smash TV Eugene Jarvis and Mark Turmell to talk about the game's past and where it's headed in the future.

According to Turmell, before Midway went into bankruptcy earlier this year, a modernized version of Smash TV was already in development, and had made it as far as the programming stage.

Since Warner Brothers purchased the company after their financial crisis, along with all of their assets it remains to be seen whether or not they will continue to resurrect the popular retro franchise.
