Dedicated BBC iPlayer Wii Channel in the UK

BBC is launching an enhanced version of its TV streaming solution on Wii.

BBC has announced that the BBC iPlayer service for Wii is relaunching as a dedicated Wii Channel. Originally Wii owners had to access the service using the Wii Internet Channel.

The iPlayer allows you to stream recent television and radio programs. In order to use the iPlayer, a broadband connection is required and the service is only accessible to UK based Wii owners.

The enhanced iPlayer will improve the streaming speed, allow higher quality video which will ultimately provide a better experience.

The Wii BBC iPlayer will be available next week on November 18, free of charge on the Wii Shop Channel in the UK.
