Last night, Sony released firmware updates to both the PSP and PlayStation 3. Both bring new functions to the Sony machines that are sure to please a number of owners.

The PS3 is now on Firmware 3.10, offering owners the ability to link in their Facebook account. This link will automatically make entries into your Facebook News Feed with Trophy information and PlayStation Store purchase information. Developers will be able to use this update to publish additional information to the feed regarding events in their games.

In addition to Facebook support, both the Pictures and Friend List sections have been revamped after customer feedback in Firmware 3.0.

On the PSP, the Firmware has been upgraded to 6.20, bringing support for the Digital Comics Reader. Players can download the reader on the XMB under Extras. In December, users will be able to download a variety of comic books, both new and old, as well as preview comics via the reader.

Aside from the reader, players will now be able to export both audio and video playlists.

Both firmware updates are available now.
