Call me crazy for saying this, but I think this is an insanely cute idea.
AFL Legacy Pack now available for download on PSN and XBLA
EA Sports salutes the NFL's roots with AFL Legacy Pack
EA Sports takes Madden fans back in time today as they celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of the American Football League (AFL) with the AFL Legacy Pack game add-on, compatible with Madden NFL 10.
The expansion was completely designed to evoke a feeling of reminiscence and truly represent the staples of the AFL all those years ago. The 1960s presentation includes a classic film grain effect that would have been created by broadcast cameras of the time, the referees will be sporting their classic orange striped uniforms, and official AFl logos and markings will color the fields.
The AFL Legacy Pack game add-on will represent the eight original AFL teams by their names and through their classic uniforms. The eight original teams consist of the Denver Broncos, Buffalo Bills, Houston Oilers (Tennessee Titans), Oakland Raiders, Titans of New York (New York Jets), San Diego Chargers, Dallas Texans (Kansas City Chiefs), and The Boston Patriots (New England Patriots).
This same presentation will carry over for the fifteen AFL matches during the regular 2009 NFL season in the offline Franchise Mode, Superstar Mode, and Play Now. Players will have the option to switch to the classic AFL uniforms at any point despite playing online or offline.
The AFL Legacy Pack expansion for Madden NFL 10 is available now for $6.99 in the PSN Store, and 560 Microsoft Points on XBLA.
