Three Highly Requested Nintendo Titles to be Released on Virtual Console Soon

Super Mario Kart, Pilotwings, and Super Smash Bros. will be available just in time for the holidays.

A Nintendo representative has told Gamespot that Nintendo will be releasing three highly requested titles on Virtual Console.

The SNES classic, Super Mario Kart will be released on November 23 and will be priced at 800 Wii Points ($8). After the release of Mario Kart, Nintendo will release yet another SNES gem, Pilotwings, which will be followed by Super Smash Bros. for the N64.


The exact release dates and prices of Pilotwings and Super Smash Bros. is still unknown.

Hell yes! I have been waiting for Smash for so damn long. Sure I own the cart already (as with SMK and Pilotwings), but I have about 1 or 2 working N64 controllers at this point. For the likely 1000 Wii Points I can download this and use the superior GameCube controller - my controller of choice for the entire series.

It’s been a long time since we’ve seen an entry in the Metroid Prime series - 18 years, in fact. It was 8 years ago that Metroid Prime 4 was originally announced and its development was more than a little turbulent. Initially developed by Bandai Namco, it was later scrapped completely and development was shifted back to Retro Studios to start the project over. In the end, Retro has delivered a solid new entry in the series, but one that doesn’t totally capture what originally made the series so compelling.
