Sony Sells 440k Consoles Thanksgiving Week

A number of bundles for Black Friday help Sony move big units of their home console.

Sony announced last night that during Thanksgiving week, the company managed to sell over 440,000 PlayStation 3 units.

According to Patrick Seybold of SCEA, "PlayStation 3 demand was at an all time high with the system selling more than 440,000 units for the week ending 11/29/09."

In preparation for Black Friday, Sony prepared a number of bundles featuring games and blu-ray movies to entice potential buyers during the busiest shopping day of the year.

These numbers outshine October's sales as a whole, but full short of Nintendo's Wii sales numbers which clocked in at 550k units.
