Nintendo Scales Back Wii Production

A Nikkei report reveals that production on the popular console is being decreased by a significant margin.

A recent report from Nikkei has revealed that Nintendo is significantly scaling back production on their Wii console.

While the numbers haven't been made public at this time, the reduction has caused massive profit loss for manufacturers, Mitsumi Electric Co. and Hosiden Corp. Both companies are now looking at an over-50% drop in net profits.

Currently, it's uncertain if Nintendo has scaled back production to make way for a newer, sleeker model, or if the drop in sales of the system has caused Nintendo to lower projected orders.
