Classic Controller Pro Confirmed for North America

Koei confirms the North American release of the Classic Controller Pro in a Samurai Warriors 3 fact sheet.

In a Tokyo Game Show fact sheet about Koei's Samurai Warriors 3, it mentions playing the game with the Classic Controller Pro, which is currently only available in Japan.

The fact sheet, which is about the North American and European versions of the game, mentions the controller twice.

At the start of the fact sheet, it states "Making its debut exclusively on Wii, SAMURAI WARRIORS 3 takes total advantage of Nintendo's new Classic Controller PRO."

Later, in a bullet-pointed features list, it says "Master the moves of samurai masters using the Classic Controller PRO."

The random appearance of the Classic Controller Pro at Nintendo's E3 2009 booth also adds to this, and pretty much confirms beyond the shadow of a doubt that the Pro is coming to North America and Europe.

Oh cool. I might just trade in my classic controllers to get one of these.

Holy crud, this is a scoop! Congrats--this is the first place I've read this bit of news. PB > NWR confirmed.

Haha, vudu's right!

This is surprising to me, since Nintendo has seemed to want to avoid making their hardware releases too complicated with the Wii. Should we expect to see the original Classic Control disappear from shelves around the time this reaches them?

It was 8 years ago that Metroid Prime 4 was originally announced and its development was more than a little turbulent. Initially developed by Bandai Namco, it was later scrapped completely and development was shifted back to Retro Studios to start the project over. In the end, Retro has delivered a solid new entry in the series, but one that doesn’t totally capture what originally made the series so compelling.
