EA Announces Online Service Shutdowns For Specific Games

February 2 is D-Day for online in a number of EA games.

EA has recently posted an announcement on their service update page detailing the discontinuation of online functionality for specific games. This latest batch of games will have their online services shutdown on February 2, 2010.

All of the titles that will be disabled next month are older sports titles across all platforms. A full listing is available below.

While online functionality might be great, one consequence is that online features might be eventually cut.

It was 8 years ago that Metroid Prime 4 was originally announced and its development was more than a little turbulent. Initially developed by Bandai Namco, it was later scrapped completely and development was shifted back to Retro Studios to start the project over.
