Famitsu Reveals New Red Steel 2 Information
Editors from the famous Japanese magazine flew to France to obtain new information about Ubisoft's next big Wii title.
Famitsu recently posted an article detailing their trip to France as well as the new information they obtained about the companies upcoming Wii title, Red Steel 2.
According to the Famitsu, the majority of the game's content is completed. Currently the team is debugging the game, placing the total completion at about 90%.
The development team revealed that many of the game's mechanics were inspired by Asian action movies such as Akira Kurosawa’s, Seven Samurai and Kim Ji-woon’s, The Good, the Bad, the Weird.
While never publicly shown, Ubisoft confirmed that players can dual-wield guns, though the ability must be purchased via the game's upgrade system. The system can also be utilized to purchase other moves with money earned within the game.
40 different enemies across different clans will be featured in the game. Through the use of Google, the development team named most of the game's clans. These names were meant to carry no meaning, but coincidentally one of the clans, Kusagari, turned out to be another name for ninjas, as pointed out by a Famitsu Editor.
Red Steel 2 is scheduled for a March release in America and Europe.
