EA to Announce NBA Jam Exclusively for Wii

Sources close to ESPN revealed that EA is planning to revive the NBA Jam franchise on Wii.

According to sources that are close to ESPN, EA has aquired the rights to NBA Jam from the now defunct Midway and has plans to release an updated version of the series exclusively for Wii.

NBA Jam is a two-on-two arcade basketball title that features many over-the-top elements. The games were released on both arcades and consoles.

Currently, no particular details about the game are known, though ESPN believes that EA will make a formal announcement of the title later this month.

Update: EA confirmed to IGN that the official announcement will take place on January 11.
