Tecmo-Koei and Nintendo partner up, a racing MMO begins its beta, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker gets a release date, and more!
It looks like there was quite a bit of buzz in the industry today, so I'm trying something a little new here at PixlBit to get all the news you'd want to read to you.
To start off the day, Nintendo notified the press that they will publish Tecmo Koei's Samurai Warriors 3. Nintendo announced the title features both 2-player online and offline co-op, and adds in new games modes that haven't been featured in a Warriors to date. The game will arrive in North America sometime during the fall, and will be exclusive to the Wii.
Then, EA announced that they've launched the Beta for Need for Speed World, the first MMO action racing game. Need for Speed World will offer classic, high-speed racing and mix in a new upgrade system with RPG elements. Gamers interested in testing the Beta should head to world.needforspeed.com for a chance to receive a beta slot.
Eidos and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment announced today that they will be releasing a Game of the Year Edition of Batman: Arkham Asylum. They plan to upgrade the game by adding in "TriOviz 3D," a process by which the game will display the game in 3D for anyone who's wearing the appropriate glasses. In addition, four new challenge maps will be included on the disk, scheduled to be released May 11.
And the last bit of big news we've received word on today is that Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker has had its release date confirmed. The game, a direct sequel to Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, will be shipped June 8 of this year for the PSP.
That last detail wraps up our current NewsBit, keep your eyes on PixlBit for more, since it's a feature I plan to continue.
