Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker Blowout
Numerous new details about Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker have been revealed.
Recently, Konami held a press conference for Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker. During the event, Konami announced numerous promotions with various companies and a couple of collaboration surprises with Capcom, Ubisoft, Square Enix and other companies.
Ubisoft will collaborate with MGS via the Assassin's Creed franchise. Originally teased as an April Fool's Joke, Kojima confirmed that a couple of elements from the Assassin's Creed series will be utilized in Peace Walker. In the game, Snake will be to perform a Eagle Dive from staggering heights into a patch of grass or the Assassin's Straw box, which is a combination of straw carts from Assassin's Creed and the cardboard box in Metal Gear Solid.
The Monster Hunter series will be represented in the game as well for Capcom. Peace Walker will contain a special Monster Island area where you will be able to hunt many famous monsters from the series. This mode is compatible with up to four players co-operatively and will offer the help of Airu, a Felyne which will provide bullets and other different items in boxes. In the mode, you will also be able to find well-cooked meat, a staple of the Monster Hunter series, in place of rations the form of rations.
Konami also plans to collaborate with Square Enix to create action figures for Peace Walker. The figures will be released under the Square Enix Play Arts line and will be referred to as Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker Play Arts Kai. The first figure will be of Snake in his Sneaking Suit, which will be followed by a figure of Snake with army fatigues as well as various bosses and machines from the game.
The final collaboration will be with various food and entertainment companies. Fritos, AXE deodorant, amongst other items will be present in the game as healing items. Sony will be represented in the game via a Walkman, which allows players to listen to a variety of in-game music. Many models of the Walkman will be included, with some models dating all the way back to the '70s. Japanese magazine publications will also appear, including Famitsu, Dengeki PlayStation, Dengeki Games, and Sh?nen Magazine.
Finally, Konami announced that if you purchase specially marked cans of Mountain Dew as well as shirts from Uniqlo, there will be codes that have the potential to unlock various in-game shirts for Snake.
Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker will be available for the PSP on June 8 in America.
