PlayStation Firmware 3.30 Released

The new update will enable 3D gaming for the PS3 and trophy sorting.

Sony has released their latest mandatory firmware update for the PS3. The new firmware will give you new ways to sort trophies and will prepare the PS3 for 3D gaming support.

Once gamers update their firmware, they will be able to sort trophies in the trophies list or through comparison with friends' trophies. Trophies can also be sorted by when you have earned them or by name, grade, or date earned.

The second portion of the update will prepare the PS3 for 3D stereoscopic gaming. In order to play a game in 3D, the game has to be enabled with 3D support and you will have to own a 3D ready TV such as Sony's upcoming 3D Bravia line. The PS3 also has to be connected to the 3D TV with a HDMI cable.
