Ubisoft Announces Rayman Origins

A toolkit from Ancel will enable a small team to create a 2D prequel for Rayman.

During their media briefing today, Ubisoft revealed that Michel Ancel, creator of Rayman and Beyond Good & Evil, has started work on a brand new Rayman title, Rayman Origins.

A team of five are using the toolset developed by Ancel to create a title that returns to the roots of the franchise. The title will be presented in 2D, with detailed environments and characters.

According to 1up, the game features a large beast that will join Rayman on his adventure.

The release date is unknown, but the title is coming to Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network.
