Castle Crashers for PSN Dated in North America

The long awaited PSN version will finally come out this month.

In a recent entry on Behemoth's developer blog, the company revealed the release date for the PSN version of Castle Crashers.

Castle Crashers, which was originally released on XBLA in 2008, is a co-operative beat-em-up with numerous RPG elements and several playable characters.

Castle Crashers for PSN will be released on August 31 and will be available for $14.99.

That seems a tad expensive to me. I just picked up Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game, also a beat-em-up title. If I make my way through that, I'll consider Castle Crashers, and perhaps we'll see a review of both titles.

The only reason this seems expensive is because I paid $15 for this two years ago for the 360. But, for the amount of content you get which is a boatload, the price is justified.

Why not also WiiWare? This seems like one of those games that could have been transferred just fine.

I'm going to assume it's partially because of the emphasis in four-player online co-op, and partly because it would take a bit more effort to bring several sprites on screen at once. Still, that's entirely assumption on my end. I do know that development of the PS3 version of this game has been a long-time coming, so perhaps the code was very difficult to port, in general.

The Wii can do four-player online co-op... you've played Monster Hunter. And it can handle plenty of sprites on the screen; haven't you played the Paper Mario games?

EXCUSES!

I would have to say file size unfortunately, the XBLA version is 140MB which is 100MB over the limit.

Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Review

It’s been a long time since we’ve seen an entry in the Metroid Prime series - 18 years, in fact. It was 8 years ago that Metroid Prime 4 was originally announced and its development was more than a little turbulent. Initially developed by Bandai Namco, it was later scrapped completely and development was shifted back to Retro Studios to start the project over. In the end, Retro has delivered a solid new entry in the series, but one that doesn’t totally capture what originally made the series so compelling.
