Fatal Frame 2 Wii Remake Revealed

A listing and screenshots on Nintendo's conference press page reveals the title.

Nintendo's press page for their Fall Summit 2010 has revealed yet another new Wii title, Fatal Frame II. The listing has no information other than a collection of screenshots, pictured below.

The title is currently listed for an unspecified 2011 date in Japan and seems to be a title Nintendo will be publishing on behalf of Koei Tecmo. Fatal Frame IV, also published by Nintendo, still has yet to make it out of Japan, so it is unclear if Fatal Frame II will receive the same treatment.

Our own Chessa DiMola reviewed Fatal Frame IV and had some gripes over the game's control scheme and its stuttering frame rate. Hopefully Fatal Frame II will skirt these issues by being built on a new engine and feature a new control scheme.

In the end, Retro has delivered a solid new entry in the series, but one that doesn’t totally capture what originally made the series so compelling.
