ODST Selling Well, Master Chief Might Return

Halo 3: ODST sold a boatload and the series star is slated to return.

A recent USA Today article confirmed that Halo 3: ODST has sold over 2.5 million copies in two weeks and that Master Chief will return eventually.

"I think that Master Chief's fate, Cortana's fate and the identity of that giant, dark planet at the ending (on the game's hardest skill level) — that's a spoiler — are probably big mysteries that would be irritating if they were just cliffhangers," said Frank O'Connor, creative director of Microsoft's Halo branch 343 Industries.

The Halo series will continue next fall with Halo: Reach, which centers on the universe before the original Halo trilogy.
