Japan Gets Club Nintendo WiiWare Title
This new Club Nintendo reward mimics an original Nintendo toy.
A downloadable title for WiiWare is the latest reward being offered by the Japanese Club Nintendo service.
As pointed out by Andriasang, this is a moment in club Nintendo history as it is the first time that a WiiWare title has been offered as a Club Nintendo reward.
The game is actually based on a toy first manufactured in 1966 by Nintendo called the Ultrahand. Users would hold the toy and through two end levers extend it in order to pick up distant objects.
The Club Nintendo WiiWare title mimicks the experience by using the Wii Remote and Nunchuck instead. So far, it appears as though there is only one level available to play; players reach for a piece of meat in the distance and attempt to bring it safely to a plate closer to the player. If players drop the piece of meat at any point, the game is over. Successfully plating the meat in succession will earn players combos and powerup used to increase the grill's heat.
The game also features a two-player competitive mode where players must plate as much meat as possible within ninety seconds, and they even have the option of stealing from their opponent.
The Japanese Club Nintendo exclusive, Ultrahand, is currently available for a total of 50 Club Nintendo Points.
