Media Molecule Says No LittleBigPlanet 2

According to the developers, such a title would be counterproductive for their community efforts.

Though LittleBigPlanet has been a massively successful endeavor for both Sony and Media Molecule, it appears that the game is not slated to receive a sequel at any point in the near future.

In a recent interview with Critical Gamer, Danny Leaver a level designer from Media Molecule stated that a sequel for LittleBigPlanet would "be the most counterproductive thing you could do. We’d never want to do that."

According to producer Martin Lynagh, DLC and updates to the existing game will be the only changes players should expect going forward. "I think what you’ve seen so far from LittleBigPlanet, that’s the way it’s going to continue," concluded Lynagh.

This is a fun story I just noticed. I just felt like browsing through old news and I noticed this one.

So do we hilariously attach this article to LittleBigPlanet 2?

I remember when LBP2 was announced, I immediately searched the site for this article because I could've sworn someone at Media Molecule said they would never do a sequel.

There's no way they weren't working on or at least talking about this sequel at the time of this statement. There must've been rumors of a sequel floating around at the time and this producer went the exact opposite direction on the question to really shoot down any speculation.

They won't make a LittleBigPlanet 3, that's for sure...

In Memory of Michael Alvarado

When 1up started the process of shutting down, there was one person who seemed to lead to charge to congregate the community in a single place. After his first visit here, it wasn't long before a slew of new members arrived. The site came alive and the real story of PixlBit began - the one that involves all of you. The person I'm referring to is, of course, Michael Alvarado, otherwise known as Michael117.
