Nintendo Sells More Than 1.5 Million Systems During Thanksgiving Week
Nintendo reported tremendous Wii and DS/DSi sales during Thanksgiving week.
Today, Nintendo of America disclosed their hardware figures for Thanksgiving week. Sales of Wii, DS Lite, and DSi consoles combined totaled more than 1.5 million units sold over the week.
According to Nintendo's internal estimates, more than 550,000 Wii consoles were sold. Nintendo attributes the healthy sales to the recent price drop to $199.99.
The DS and DSi also saw colossal sales numbers. Combined, both systems sold more than a million units. Nintendo states that this figure shattered the all-time portable sales record for Thanksgiving week which was set by the Game Boy Advance in 2002. Last week, Nintendo also released two special DSi Bundles each with five different preloaded DSiWare titles.
