Doom 3 Re-Master Coming This Fall

It's time to pull out the big guns again.

You may not have known that you wanted it, but Bethesda has just announced the aptly titled Doom 3 BFG Edition.  Seemingly coming out of nowhere, the BFG Edition will be released on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 sometime this fall and as you would expect, it packs a wallop.

Mario Tennis Open Review

Slight tweaks to the core formula prove fun, but Camelot barely volleys it over the net.

It’s much easier to consider Mario Tennis Open the latest home console iteration of the Mario Tennis series rather than the latest handheld title. Lacking the handheld games’ iconic RPG mode, the experience is more like a follow-up to the GameCube’s (and Wii’s) Mario Power Tennis. In and of itself, this isn’t a bad thing; however, Mario Tennis Open is thin on content and new gameplay enhancements don’t do much to vary up the experience from past iterations.

Five Indie Games You Need To Try

You owe it to yourself to give these games a shot.

With the deluge of games being released all year long, none of us can complain about not having anything to play.  But therein lies another problem: trying to keep up with all of the great games out there.  The big releases with primetime TV ads are hard to miss, but it’s easy to overlook the little guys that can be just as, if not more fun than their bigger AAA cousins.

Torchlight 2 Preview

We don't like to use the "D" word around these parts.

With Diablo III exploding onto the world and making headlines for everything from its high sales numbers to its controversial internet connection requirements, it seems as if Blizzard’s new monster is set to dominate the gaming landscape for some time to come. If you’ve read my review you know that I’m rather fond of that game. Perhaps you’re still not impressed. Perhaps you yearn for a game less streamlined that plays more like the Diablo of yore. That’s the exact sentiment that Runic Games is banking on with Torchlight II--a love letter to Diablo II in a post-Diablo III world. But let’s just not talk about Diablo for now, shall we?

Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode II Review

Is Tails the foil that accomplishes what Episode 1 couldn't, bringing Sonic back to his former splendor?

When Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode I was released in 2010, it was meant to be a return to form for the blue blur, taking inspiration from the original Genesis titles. The results were mixed. So Sega went back to the drawing board for the next episode and fixed a few of the problems plaguing the first game. Although Ep. II evokes some of Sonic's previous glory, Sega still hasn't been able to fully capture the magic of the Genesis games, apparently content with yet another platformer that is only slightly above average in nearly every respect.

Demon's Souls To Remain Online in North America

And there was much rejoicing.
