Tomb Raider Slips Into Next Year

2013 is looking better and better, but will we have any big games left this year?

Last year’s E3 had some impressive titles that got fans excited for the 2012 gaming landscape. Of course, any year in the gaming industry wouldn’t be complete without a few high-profile delays. We already learned a couple weeks ago that BioShock Infinite would be slipping into 2013, and now you can add Tomb Raider to that growing list.

Major League Baseball 2K12 Review

A fun but frustrating experience, MLB 2K12 is more iteration than upgrade.

It's time once again to take gamers out to the ball game with the newest installment in 2K Sports' digital realization of our nation's pastime. Major League Baseball 2K12 has implemented an improved pitching mechanic and updated rosters, but it continues to fall behind Sony's MLB The Show series due to recurring technical problems and less-than-intricate mechanics. Most damaging of all however is that this is merely a slight upgrade from the last title and essentially the same game MLB 2K10 was two years ago.

Pre Order Hitman: Absolution and Get an Exclusive New Game Mode

The highest scorer will win a trip to Denmark.

If you’re heading into a Gamestop on May 15 to purchase Diablo III or Max Payne 3 (or Game of Thrones-we won’t judge), you may want to slap a pre order down on Hitman: Absolution. Why, you may ask? Besides the fact that it’s the first entry in the popular stealth action series since 2006, Square Enix has put together a rather unprecedented pre order bonus that’s—you guessed it—exclusive to Gamestop.

Get Midnight Club II Free on Steam

Just don't expect it to work on a new computer.

If you like free games, there’s a pretty easy way to score Midnight Club II on your Steam account through the weekend.  Simply join the Rockstar Steam community before 10 AM PDT on May 15 and a free, non-giftable copy of the game will arrive in your account sometime before May 29. Just be aware that this version of the game won’t run on Windows 7 or Vista.  This probably limits the audience for the game considerably, but for those still rocking Windows XP on an aging rig might finally have a new game to boot up on their systems.

Rumor: Kinect-Enabled Internet Explorer Coming to Xbox 360

Microsoft to finally catch up to.. the Wii? Wait a second...

While people have speculated on Internet Explorer support being added to the Xbox 360, only recently has a rumor surfaced that brings any credibility to the discussion.  While we don’t have news of an integration plan, or an official announcement from Microsoft, it seems that IE’s appearance on your 360 dashboard is imminent.

Risen 2: Dark Waters Review

Why is it always a kraken? Throw us a nautilus every now and then.

It isn’t often you find yourself enjoying being kicked in the face, but I guess the fantasy of being a pirate has to be grounded every now and then with a harsh dose of how a world with monsters has to work, and Risen 2 has every intention of being a nasty educator. Developed by Piranha Bytes, the house that brought us the Gothic series and the first Risen, Risen 2: Dark Waters feels both familiar to its pedigree and oh-so much nastier.

LEGO Lord of the Rings is Real

Fact: Minifig dwarves are very dangerous over short distances.

We reported late last year about a new line of LEGO toys featuring the Lord of the Rings license. A series of games from the now-synonymous-with-LEGO developer Traveller’s Tales seemed like a no-brainer, and now it looks like our original assumption was true.

We may be going to hell, but we're taking you with us!

It's time for another Tri-Force edition of PixlTalk! This week, we read your questions, spend some time talking about The Avengers, Call of Duty Black Ops 2, and Diablo III. Dragon's Dogma Hands On Preview

This is a game you will probably want to pay attention to.

Capcom has been quite the news grabber lately, and it has been mostly negative news over the past year and a half or so. Whatever your feelings for the prolific Japanese developer/publisher, it can’t be denied that Capcom has been one of the most aggressive leaders in establishing new IPs this generation. While that has given us everything from very popular properties like Dead Rising to failures like Dark Void and games that can’t quite be defined like Asura’s Wrath, new and untested games seem to come out of the House of Mega Man at least a couple times a year. Enter Dragon’s Dogma, a game that hopes to bridge the gap between Japanese and Western development sensibilities.
