New James Bond Title Coming This Fall

007 Legends will tie six Bond movies into one storyline.

Activision is celebrating James Bond's 50th Anniversary with a new game, 007 Legends. Rather than a video game interpretation of the upcoming James Bond film, Skyfall, the game will combine scenes from the new film along with five other classic Bond films. Eurocom, the studio behind last year's Goldeneye 007: Reloaded, will be developing 007 Legends for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, which is currently slated for a fall release.

PB & Jason Issue 84: Half-off Mutant Simpsons in the Mushroom Kingdom for Pikmin Review-bought DLC

What?

This week's PB & Jason covers a lot of ground. It starts with the shock of a popular two-month-old game that can be found at half its original retail price. It ends with a twisted DLC idea that could become the follow-up to retailer-exclusive DLC. In the middle? Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, The Simpsons, PlayBits, New Super Mario Bros. Mii, Pikmin 3, and Nintendo's approach to DLC with the Wii U. To hear the podcast, you'll have to click through to find the podcast's download links.

Darksiders II Delayed

Vigil holds the game back a couple months for polishing.

Darksiders was the definition of a sleeper hit. The 2010 release started off slow, but gradually built up steam over the course of the year, gaining an appreciative fanbase for the “Zelda for adults” approach that the game took. While it wasn’t a smash hit, it did well enough to warrant a sequel, which has been gaining hype thanks to its position as a Wii U launch title. Today we’ve learned that the game is getting a small delay, and even though it’s easy for people to speculate that it may have something to do with the recent layoffs at Vigil, the reality is much better news.

Double Dragon: Neon Preview

It’s all '80s, all the time.

Double Dragon is one of those games that everyone has played, or at least heard of. From its humble beginning as an arcade brawler, the franchise has gone on to make an appearance in some form in almost every console generation. The original title was ported to nearly every available system at the time, including the Atari 2600 in 1988. (And you thought this console generation was long!) Brothers Jimmy and Billy have been in one on one fighting games, have teamed up with the Battletoads on the SNES, and had the Double Dragon world predominantly featured in a completely over the top fan tribute to the NES called Abobo’s Big Adventure. Needless to say, Majesco and WayForward have some pretty big shoes to fill.

The Gender Blind Myth

What the Civil Rights Movement can teach geek culture about its attitude towards gender.

Geek culture is changing, evolving. No longer banished to the recesses of poorly lit basements or the local comic book store, Geek culture is permeating into mainstream society. Social gaming has unlocked a whole new market of avid gamers, while ‘high profile geeks’ like Felicia Day and Will Wheaton are proving just how versatile we geeks can be.

Canabalt Review

Fly, you fools!

Similar to the classic arcade games popularized in the early 80s, Canabalt is a fun, arcade-style game that can be played with a single finger. It has a simple premise that anyone can immediately understand: run, run for your life! As giant robots lay waste to the city in the distant background and space ships rocket overhead, all you can do is run from the destruction, jumping over obstacles and hopping gaps between crumbling buildings. This is a game scored not in points or lives, but how far you can make it before the inevitable happens and you fall to your doom.

Halo 4 Coming in November

I predict many gamers will forget to vote this election day.

It’s been a while since we’ve seen Master Chief in action.  The Spartan cyborg, to which Microsoft arguably owes the success of the Xbox and 360, hasn’t starred in a new game since Halo 3 graced the scene nearly five years ago.  Last year at E3, Microsoft blew the lid off the first non-Bungie developed mainline Halo game with the surprise announcement of Halo 4 and today we finally learn when we’ll be able to get our mitts on it.

Nintendo Showing New Pikmin Game at E3

The title Miyamoto excitedly revealed years ago during a round table will finally be seen by the public.

Yesterday, we reported that Nintendo would be showing off a new Mario title for its soon-to-be-released Wii U console at E3. However, it appears that Shigeru Miyamoto also let slip that a Pikmin game would be at E3 in the same interview with Spanish newspaper, El Mundo. Again, the details were questionable, but Nintendo has issued the following statement to address concerns:
