This was a fun experiment, going weekly and getting to talk about news every other week, but we’ll probably do something different for 2024. Welcome to a really special edition of Nerds Without Pants! We watch The Game Awards together every year, but this year we decided to record ourselves, and it ended up working out as a pretty fun commentary track! Enjoy our live reacts to some big announcements, dunk on fashion, and listen to Justin totally fracture when one of his least favorite games of 2022 wins an award. There are instructions on how to sync up the audio with the video archive in the intro to the show, and we have included a link to the official video archive below. I mean, I guess you could listen to this along with someone else's stream, but that would be kinda weird.
Just when you thought awards season was over...
Last month we announced our Game of the Year award winners by genre, platform and overall game of the year, but we weren’t through showcasing the best that 2011 had to offer. With so many games deserving of the moniker Game of the Year we have decided to expand our awards ceremony into 2012 with the 2011 Supplemental Awards. These awards seek to recognize games that excelled in a specific area whether it be through technical achievement, sheer enjoyability or utter disappointment.

The Writer’s Guild of America (WGA) annually awards one standout game released within the year for its refined narrative. For the past five years the WGA has presented such an award and today they have released this year's batch of nominees.

The Spike TV Video Game Awards is starting to become a hotbed for major reveals. With information on Alan Wake 2, BioWare’s next project and more to be revealed, there is many a video game enthusiast's DV-R scheduled to record the event. But even a week before the show airs we’re starting to get some teasers of what’s going to show, including a PlayStation 3 exclusive called The Last of Us.
It's a quick look, but it's sure to get some people pumped.
Spike TV's Video Game Awards has become a popular place to stage major release reveals. Last year’s show saw the announcement of Skyrim which will see release this Friday and a host of other major releases such as Portal 2, Batman: Arkham City and the still mysterious Guillermo Del Toro’s Insane.
