Sony Announces Medieval Moves: Deadmund's Quest

The creators of Sports Champions are hard at work on a brand new adventure game using just the Move controller.

During Sony's press conference, it was announced that Zindagi Games, creators of Sports Champions have started work on a new title for use with the PlayStation Move, Medieval Moves: Deadmund's Quest. The game is a fantasy action adventure that involves slashing enemies, throwing ninja stars, and shooting a bow and arrow, all with seamless gestures using the Move controller.

PlayStation Vita to Challenge 3DS Directly on Pricing

The WiFi only version of the system will also be priced at $249.99 and available this holiday season.

Sony has revealed that the PlayStation Vita will be priced at $249.99 in North America for the WiFi only version of the system. The 3G version of the system will be priced at $299.99, only $50 more than the WiFi version of the system. Outside of North America, the pricing is similar in number, though more expensive when adjusted for exchange rate.

Sony Confirms PlayStation Vita Name For NGP

The system will be offered in two versions, WiFi and 3G, with AT&T being the exclusive carrier for the device.

During Sony's press conference, the NGP was officially renamed to the PlayStation Vita. According to Kaz Hirai, the system will be offered in two distinct versions, WiFi and 3G. The 3G version of the system will be exclusively carried by AT&T in North America.

PS Vita EU Trademark Spotted

The trademark lends further proof of the final VIta name for the NGP.

While later today, Sony will officially be donning the NGP with a final name, it appears the sleuths of the internet have uncovered a staggering amount of evidence that the system will be named PS Vita, or PSV as I have been calling it. The latest bit of evidence is a trademark registered on the OHIM website to Sony Computer Entertainment. Included with the trademark is the logo depicted here. Just a few more hours and we'll know for sure what exactly the PS Vita is and if it is indeed the final name for Sony's next handheld, the NGP.

inFAMOUS 2 Hands On Preview

A sequel that seems to have improved in every way from an already great game.

When inFamous was released in 2009, it took the gaming world by storm. It was a super-hero inspired game that used open world mechanics along with a deep story and strong morale choices to catch the eyes of many gamers. inFamous was met with critical acclaim, and now the team at Sucker Punch seeks out to top the first game in each and every way with inFamous 2. From my hands on with the game, I feel that it truly lives up to that expectation.

PlayStation Store Fully Restored

The Welcome Back program, however, is still not available.

Today, Sony announced via the PlayStation Blog that the PlayStation Store functionality has been restored. With the store back intact, Sony has released the first offering of content which includes sale items, new releases, and downloadable tracks for the popular rhythm titles. Sony Estimates a $171 Million Cost for the Damage and Restoration of PSN

PSN is free for everyone except Sony.

As a precursor to its fiscal year 2010 earnings report this past Thursday, Sony released a revised earnings statement announcing an estimated $171 million price tag for the shutdown of PlayStation Network. This is a “reasonable assumption,” and Sony states it will have to spend this on its “personal information theft protection program,” not to mention “welcome back programs,” customer support, network security, and legal costs. In addition, Sony has taken into account potential revenue loss from the outage and recovery.
