Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Revelation Review

It's a SNES RPG through and through... now on the DS... in America.

After my five-year-old self was handily beaten down by Dragon Warrior on the NES, I swore off the series -- until recently that is. Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Revelation marks my first true experience with the mega-popular Japanese RPG series. Thankfully my reintroduction has been a smooth one. While I wouldn't consider SNES RPGs a genre in and of itself, games in the genre that debuted on the system all have a similar style and presentation that promoted a far greater degree of accessibility. Being that I first got into the genre here, Dragon Quest VI made me feel right at home.

God of War: Origins Collection Review

Kratos, a man of many emotions – angry, pissed off, furious, and did I mention angry?

Good news, everyone! PixlBit has already reviewed both Chains of Olympus and Ghost of Sparta. Both received a rating of 4 stars on the PSP, and if you're a fan of the series, surely the same will hold true here. Sony has lovingly ported these games to the PlayStation 3 with great results. Both games look strikingly good for PSP remasters and both control as you'd expect with the de facto PlayStation controller, as opposed to the often awkward PSP nub.

Disney Universe Review

When you say Disney Universe, Pirates of the Caribbean, WALL-E, Monsters Inc, and Alice aren’t the first things that come to mind.

At face value, you might think Disney is crazy for releasing their four player co-operative title, Disney Universe, just one week after Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One. The thing is, Disney Universe is actually the better of the two games. While both suffer from a lackluster co-operative play, the core gameplay of Disney Universe is more layered in its design, giving players more than endless enemies to grind through.

Batman: Arkham City Review

One of the best games this year, period.

Seldom is there a licensed game as good as Batman: Arkham City. It succeeds in all of the areas that Arkham Asylum failed, while also keeping the fantastic ambiance, gameplay, and loyalty to the Batman franchise that we came to expect from the original. Pretty much every time I picked it up I easily ended up dropping at least three hours into the game and had no desire to put it down. I will go as far to say that Batman: Arkham City is not only the best comic based game ever, but a contender for game of the year.
