Pid Preview

A glimmer of hope for a played out genre?

If you’re feeling a little burned out from the deluge of indie puzzle platformers with unique art styles, you are not alone.  Pid, which is just this sort of game, makes a good argument for you to make an exception: it’s being developed by the same team that created Bionic Commando: Rearmed.  Although Bionic Commando: Rearmed was a remake of a perfectly crafted classic game, the development team that now makes up Might and Delight perfectly nailed the recreation of the original’s faultless controls and physics.  Add a completely new game concept and art style to that proven record of gamepad artistry, and you’ve got a downloadable title that should be worth your time.

Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode II Review

Is Tails the foil that accomplishes what Episode 1 couldn't, bringing Sonic back to his former splendor?

When Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode I was released in 2010, it was meant to be a return to form for the blue blur, taking inspiration from the original Genesis titles. The results were mixed. So Sega went back to the drawing board for the next episode and fixed a few of the problems plaguing the first game. Although Ep. II evokes some of Sonic's previous glory, Sega still hasn't been able to fully capture the magic of the Genesis games, apparently content with yet another platformer that is only slightly above average in nearly every respect.

Wii U Aliens: Colonial Marines is “The Best Looking Version” Says Gearbox

Gearbox Producer teases that the Wii U is a “Powerful, Powerful Machine”

Skeptics have been dismissing the Wii U since its reveal, claiming that the new console still will fail to hold a candle to the current generation consoles. Some developers have been going out of their way to dispute these claims, such as Vigil, the company behind Darksiders 2, claiming that the console will have a version of the game that is “at least as good as” the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions. Gearbox however, goes even further to say flat out that The Wii U version of their upcoming title, Aliens: Colonial Marines, will indeed look better than the rest.
