Does this mean that the next Nintendo console will see more support?
What Nintendo showed at the 2011 E3 Wii U reveal was only a taste of what their new console would be capable of. The sizzle reel displayed footage of games running on competing platforms and the conceptual demos were not running on final hardware. Truth be told, the Wii U’s coming out party may have resulted in more questions than answers. Nintendo promised strong third party support, but it’s largely been unknown when developers would get a chance to really work with the hardware.
New “Retro Game Vault” section lists new PowerUp rewards for members.
Visitors to GameStop’s PowerUp Rewards website may have noticed a new section called the Retro Game Vault. It would appear GameStop is getting into the business of selling classic games for reward points for systems dating all the way back to the Atari 2600. There are even some accessories listed for future availability such as the Nintendo Power Pad and the infamous NES Power glove, which come with World Class Track Meet and Super Gloveball respectively.
The Content Season DLC for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will be available for the Elite Premium members of Xbox Live on January 24, 2012.
Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games for the Nintendo 3DS will be available on February 14, 2012.
Indications that the game will be coming this year also ring true.
The original Guild Wars made some waves when it was released by providing a rich and robust MMORPG experience without the financially restricting monthly fee. The upcoming sequel looks to continue this tradition later this year, and while a select few were able to participate in the recently ended closed beta, Mike O’Brien, ArenaNet Founder and President, has promised that we should expect “progressively larger events.”
The recently released promotion gets started after Valentine's Day.
Larry Hryb (Major Nelson) announced on his blog the release dates and prices for the titles collectively known as the Xbox Live Arcade House Party 2012. The post also mentioned that if you purchase all four titles between February 15 and March 13, you'll receive 800 Microsoft Points.
And I thought the other games in the series were short!
After the abduction of the Statue of Liberty and Big Ben, as well as the subsequent arrests of two V.I.L.E. criminals, you'd think the V.I.L.E. crew would lay low for a while. Instead, they've gotten more ambitious than ever, stealing the St. Basil's Cathedral in Moscow as well as the pyramids straight out of Egypt. With the most linear quest yet, The Case of the Crumbling Cathedral is the shortest of the three episodes currently available on the Wii Shop Channel. While it's home to the best puzzles yet, it's over so quickly that it's hard to pay it any respect at all.
This time Big Ben is missing.
The Big Ben Burglary is the second case in the ongoing episodic production of Carmen Sandiego Adventures in Math. As such, it features the same Professor Layton inspired gameplay from the The Lady Liberty Larceny, with the exception that the puzzles are more rooted in mathematics than general puzzle solving. This makes for a quest that's a bit duller than the first, in addition to being even briefer.
