Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus Being Ported to XBLA and PSN

16:9 and online play will be added to the last generation fighter.

On their website, Arc System Works announced their plans to port their fan favorite fighter, Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus, to both PSN and XBLA. Originally released on PS2, PSP, and Wii, the fighter is getting a visual upgrade by moving to a 16:9 aspect ratio, while adding online play. Currently there's no known time frame for the release, but it was recently revealed that the game will be receiving an arcade port as well. As such, it's likely that Arc System Works is putting a large scale effort into the port and rerelease of the title.

Alan Wake Announced for PC

Remedy's game will be released on Steam.

PC gamers will be able to get their hands on what was previously an Xbox 360 exclusive sometime this February. In a forum post, Remedy's community manager revealed that Alan Wake is coming to PC via Steam. The PC version will not use Games for Windows Live and will come with the previously released DLC content, The Signal and The Writer.

3DS Firmware Update Slightly Delayed

Nintendo won't be on time, but you still won't have to wait long.

Nintendo's November 3DS update should be right around the corner since there's only one day left in this month as of this writing, but there's been no announcement as to when exactly it will be released. Well, it should come as no surprise that Nintendo is going to miss the November window of release; however, the release date has now been locked down.

Nintendo Announces Hulu Plus for 3DS, System Update Details

Hulu Plus is due by year end, while the system update will hit in November.

Joining Netflix, Hulu Plus will soon be available to Nintendo 3DS and Wii owners, Nintendo announced today. The company has detailed some of their strategy for their portable system through the end of the year and into the next. Launching before the end of the year, Hulu Plus will deliver content from premuim content partners like ABC, Comedy Central, FOX, NBC, and MTV. Like Netflix, Hulu Plus carries its own subscription fee of $7.99, with limited advertisements. Nintendo also delivered a bevvy of information regarding the upcoming system update and some of the upcoming titles due to hit the eShop.

This is Street Fighter X Tekken's trailer for the New York Comic Con, and it introduces players to its battle system. Street Fighter X Tekken will be available for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in North-America on March 06, 2012. A PlayStation Vita release date has yet to be announced.

BlazBlue: Continuum Shift II Review

Pretty sure it's pronounced "Blaze Blue."

BlazBlue: Continuum Shift II is a PSP Port (hence the “II”) of Continuum Shift, which was released first for arcade and then for PS3 and Xbox 360. The port differs slightly from the original: it includes all the DLC characters from the start, and it features a new Abyss mode (more on that later). Like the other titles in the series, this game is outrageously complicated. It’s clearly made for a niche audience (“hardcore” fighting game enthusiasts) of which I am not a part. But, complexity aside, the battles are fun and nice to look at, so it seems they’ve struck enough of a balance that even those who don’t really know what they’re looking at can enjoy the view.

Nintendo Releases Wii System Update 4.2

The latest firmware isn't feature rich, but it seeks to eliminate all homebrew hacks and apps.

Today, Nintendo released their latest firmware update to the Wii, System Update 4.2. Though light on features, the firmware update makes a direct attack on all homebrew software on a user's system.
