The Legend of Soundtrack

Don't worry, your coins are safe with Wario - as it turns out, so are limited edition soundtracks.

If you're like me, yesterday produced some frustration and definite cause for concern. Assuming you followed along with our E3 coverage, you're well aware that Nintendo is giving away a special limited edition soundtrack with their recently released title, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D. The bad news about this sweet giveaway? It's extremely limited and only a few Club Nintendo members who register their game will actually be able to get it. After registering yesterday, completing the required survey, and requesting the bonus, Chessa and I were stopped dead in our tracks by a system error.

Batman: Arkham City Hands On Preview

Batman is back in a sequel that aims to top everything laid out by its predecessor.

Batman: Arkham Asylum was arguably the best superhero game ever made. Never before had a superhero universe been so faithfully re-created in a video game. Everything from the gameplay to production values were done so well that the game won itself over with fans and critics alike. However, Rocksteady Studios is trying to best their last game with Batman: Arkham City. So far, they are definitely on the right track.

Child of Eden Review

Explore the beauty of life and the world through this aural and visual feast.

Wow. That’s all I can say after completing Child of Eden last night. Just, wow. Tetsuya Mizuguchi and Q? Games have delivered an experience that’s stunningly gorgeous and completely unparalleled. I’m struggling to find the words to describe the experience I had, but it was something completely unique and personal. For me, it was emotional, immersive, and moving, conjuring up memories and thoughts from throughout my life.

Disney Universe Hands On Preview

Jason Ross stopped by the extravagant Disney Interactive booth to play a bit of the upcoming multiplatform title, Disney Universe.

Let me begin by saying the Disney Interactive booth was most certainly one of the most expansive booths at all of E3 this year. There were two main sections aside from the meeting areas, and they were some of the most elaborate and colorful E3 areas here. On one side, was a Phineas and Ferb coffee house, where Disney elected to give away free flavored coffee. Don't ask me how it was, I don't drink coffee, sorry! The other side was made to look like the interior of a house: There was a kitchen, with custom Mickey Mouse and Disney magnets, a computer area, where E3 guests could try out a Disney computer title or two, and then a living room-type area, where Cars 2, Disney Universe, and a few other titles were on display.

Centipede: Infestation Hands On Preview

Humans are involved, but it's not what you think.

WayForward Technologies is remaking the arcade classic on Wii and 3DS with 3D environments and new features. No longer limited by an invisible ceiling like in the original, players can run all around the enclosed arenas with the nunchuk while aiming the Wii remote and blasting away with the B button. Thus far in the game's development, the only other move is a stomp (done with A or C) and the D-Pad is for changing weapons. Whether there will be a jump to aid in dodging or exploration/adventure elements is still undecided at this point. I saw very few mushrooms and destructible barriers; hopefully they'll be added in the next several months of development.

Duke Nukem Forever Review

After well over a decade in development, this game has to be great. Right?

Let’s hop right into it – rather than bestow upon you some longwinded story about the timeline of Duke Nukem Forever, I’ll start with a bold statement about the finished product. It’s a complete mess. After well over a decade of development, the game shows the absolute turmoil it lived in for a great many years. Rooted in old shooter design, but grafted to a modern shooter system, Duke Nukem Forever feels like the worst of both, with a hefty dose of potty humor thrown in that so often falls flat. Duke Nukem Forever has already been a joke for years, and even now that it’s finally released, a joke it will remain.
