Rumor: Prince of Persia Reboot In the Works?

A leaked screenshot adds fuel to the fire.

Despite the quick rise of the Prince of Persia series after the initial release of The Sands of Time, it has remained dormant for the past few years. 2010 was the last time anyone heard from Ubisoft on the middle-eastern series with the release of the Forgotten Sands, but it seems that there might be something in store for the “almost forgotten” franchise.

Industry Stars Discuss The Game of Making Games at QuakeCon

Todd Howard and crew reveal the fun and difficult times to be had in game development.

Today’s slate of panels kicked off with “The Game of Making Games,” hosted by G4’s Blair Herter.  Ted Price of Insomniac, Jens Matthies of Machine Games, Todd Howard of Bethesda, and Raphael Colantonio of Arkane Studios made up the panel of noteworthy developers in what was primarily a Q & A session with the audience.  Herter started off by asking about each developer’s general game-making philosophy, which soon led to questions about axing faltering game elements during development no matter how much time was spent on creating them.  Herter threw out the term “killing your babies” about this design necessity and it became a recurring in-panel meme.

I've got jungle fever, she's got jungle fever, we've got jungle fever, we've gone mad!

You know those trippy sequences in movies that come out of nowhere with no real explanation or warning? Like the pink elephants in Dumbo or the weird tunnel sequence in Willy Wonka? Dust: An Elysian Tail Preview

Such an amazing gaming package that gamers will need a cigarette after experiencing it.

Imagine if you will, that video games never went into the third dimension. Instead of the polygon arms race that began in 1995, game artists and designers simply continued to hone the craft of 2D, hand-drawn sprites. What would the video games industry look like today? With that picture in your head, imagine that character-action games like Devil May Cry and God of War still existed, but were known for their gorgeous animation and parallax scrolling as much for their over-the-top combo systems and precise control schemes. Enter Dust: An Elysian Tale, a game that seems to come from this amazing alternate gaming reality.
