According to Ancel, the game is no longer being targeted for this console generation, but rather the next. 2K Games has just announced the release date for XCOM, a tactical action game set in mid-century America for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. Players will lead a team of elite field agents into battle on March 6, 2012 in America, and March 9 worldwide. By using a combination of firearms and "sci-fi abilities," they will try to defeat an otherworldly enemy who looks to destroy and rebuild the world in their image.
