Mega Man Legends 3 Project Officially Canceled

The title was slated to have a prototype released on the 3DS eShop, but this, too, has been canceled.

Capcom has used its Mega Man Legends 3 Project Developer's Room to announce Mega Man Legends 3 Project has been fully canceled. In a note left to the community Capcom created for assistance in choosing some ideas for the planned title, Capcom revealed that various sectors within the company didn't feel as though the title was of high enough quality to enter into full production, so Capcom's response was to cancel the game.

Matt is PO’d again, and the house of Mega Man is in his sights.

If there was one video game company during the NES era that seemed to almost one-up Nintendo in terms of quality games, it was Capcom. Whether it was releasing games starring the blue bomber himself or making great licensed Disney games, they could do no wrong. They continued this with the SNES, the Playstation 1, the Gamecube, the DS – and people loved them.

Nintendo Reveals Club Nintendo Platinum Status Reward

25 commemorative Mario pins are available for you to redeem until July 31, so act now!

The Club Nintendo year has finally come to a close and as has become tradition, Nintendo has revealed the latest bonus for members who reached gold and platinum status. As with previous years, gold members are able to grab a Nintendo calendar with unspecified art at this time, while platinum members have the choice of both the calendar and special set of commemorative pins. 25 collectible Mario pins contained in a special case can be redeemed as this year's special bonus. Both gold and platinum members must claim their rewards by July 31 or else they will forfeit their special gift. According to Nintendo, the gifts will ship before the end of the calendar year, so keep your eyes peeled for your shipment. Click through for some images of this year's bonuses!

The Legend of Soundtrack

Don't worry, your coins are safe with Wario - as it turns out, so are limited edition soundtracks.

If you're like me, yesterday produced some frustration and definite cause for concern. Assuming you followed along with our E3 coverage, you're well aware that Nintendo is giving away a special limited edition soundtrack with their recently released title, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D. The bad news about this sweet giveaway? It's extremely limited and only a few Club Nintendo members who register their game will actually be able to get it. After registering yesterday, completing the required survey, and requesting the bonus, Chessa and I were stopped dead in our tracks by a system error.

Nintendo Download - 06/16/2011

The first Nintendo Download that includes the 3DS eShop brings some heavy hitting titles.

Now appearing each Thursday, the weekly Nintendo Download update now includes entries to the new eShop found on the 3DS. Being the first week of the new format, Nintendo has made some tweaks to their format and have released some significant titles to make a big splash this week. Donkey Kong, originally released on the Gameboy has made its way to the 3DS Virtual Console for $3.99, while Mega Man 5 from the NES is now available on the Wii's Virtual Console. Gaijin Games' final Bit.Trip game, Bit.Trip Flux, can be demoed on WiiWare for a limited time. For more information on Bit.Trip Flux, be sure to read our review on the game.
