Tomba! Review

It's weird and unique, but is it fun?

Due to its rarity, Tomba has become highly sought after for fans and collectors alike. The title, created by the now defunct Whoopee Camp, was the brain child of Ghosts'n Goblins creator/Mega Man producer Tokuro Fujiwara. While the multi-plane sidescroller has Fujiwara's signature, it doesn't quite capture the magic of his prior works, especially 15 years after its release.

Rock Band Blitz Review

The party’s over.

Probably the worst part of playing alto sax in middle school band (besides having to play on braces-tightening days) was rhythm practice.  If you’re not familiar, there are entire books of rhythms written out – no notes, just the rhythms – which kids have to sit and verbalize.  “Ta ta tee tee tee tee rest ta-a-a-a-a tee tee tee tee ta ta” can be heard coming from the mouths of dreary band halls across the country as kids prepare for that next chair test or concert.   This despised exercise is what is at the core of Rock Band Blitz, and somehow they almost made it fun.

JAM Live Music Arcade Review

An awkward interface and limited functionality hinder this otherwise creative music game.

However, Jam Live Music Arcade makes the mistake of cramming in an uninspired arcade mode that needlessly mimics the popular rhythm games of this generation, like Guitar Hero and Rock Band.

Nintendo Power Reveals New Castlevania for 3DS

Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate is apparently just one game.

It seems there was something to those Castlevania rumors we reported on last week.  Not satisfied with an E3 reveal alone, Nintendo went ahead and made the Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate a cover story for their publication Nintendo Power as well.

Activision's lawsuit with former Infinity Ward developers revealed the agreement.

Activision's high profile development deal with Bungie, creator of the Halo franchise, was revealed during the equally high profile lawsuit between themselves and former Call of Duty developers, Jason West and Vince Zampella. The terms of the deal with Bungie weren't disclosed when the information originally came to light, but the lawsuit has revealed the full scope of the agreement.
