Gelled Portal 2 DLC Turns Players into Creators May 8

You might get jelly if you play on a console.

In just one week, PC and Mac Portal 2 players will get the chance to build their own single and multiplayer puzzles using an in-game editor that will be added with the second batch of DLC, the “Perpetual Testing Initiative." Although there is no word yet on this DLC coming to consoles, the fact that this update comes in the form of an in-game editor should provide some level of optimism for console supporters.

Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D is the kind of game that appeals to a very specific audience; an audience that already has unconditional love for the source material, which allows them to overlook the obvious shortcomings of this handheld iteration.  Though there is evidence that suggests that the developers treated this game as more than a simple port, their efforts will likely go unnoticed by those not previously indoctrinated.

Zuma's Revenge Coming to XBLA

The popular PC game will be available this summer.

Zuma's Revenge, the popular PC puzzle game by PopCap Games, is coming to Xbox Live Arcade. The original was one of the first titles available for the downloadable game service and a little over six years later, Game Informer is reporting the sequel will now finally make an appearance.

EA's Total Control mechanics come to Tennis.

Grand Slam Tennis began life exclusively on the Nintendo Wii. While versions were planned for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, they were delayed indefinitely, giving players the choice of only the cartoonish, less realistic version of the game. This year, EA has taken it to a new level with Grand Slam Tennis 2, which offers a much more serious game, complete with a new presentation and control scheme.

Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus Being Ported to XBLA and PSN

16:9 and online play will be added to the last generation fighter.

On their website, Arc System Works announced their plans to port their fan favorite fighter, Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus, to both PSN and XBLA. Originally released on PS2, PSP, and Wii, the fighter is getting a visual upgrade by moving to a 16:9 aspect ratio, while adding online play. Currently there's no known time frame for the release, but it was recently revealed that the game will be receiving an arcade port as well. As such, it's likely that Arc System Works is putting a large scale effort into the port and rerelease of the title.

UMD Passport Won't Be Available to US Vita Owners

UMDs are only good for the PSP now.

Sony before had mentioned that physical copies of PSP games would be available to Vita owners for a fee. Dubbed the UMD Passport, some, not all, PSP games will be available at a discount if you previously purchased the UMD. Except that it won't after all.

Capcom Sales Down 29%

Yet another publisher is seeing losses in 2011.

Capcom may have had some high profile titles released in 2011, such as Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D and Dead Rising 2: Off The Record, but that hasn't prevented the company home to Mega Man and Bionic Commando from experiencing significant losses in sales in 2011.

Sony Hemorrhaging Money in 2011

The Tokyo company is posting losses for the fourth year in a row.

Sony announced its recent financial information and it doesn't look good. For the fourth year in a row Sony is in the red, and the company will post an annual loss of 2.9 billion dollars in March for 2011. Reuters is reporting that the loss is worse than expected.

Battlefield 3, FIFA 12 Sell Over 10 Million Each

Also, Star Wars: The Old Republic has 1.7 million subscribers.

Electronic Arts made public its financial results for the third fiscal quarter of 2011 and it's reporting that both Battlefield 3 and FIFA 12 sold 10 million copies each across their respective platforms. It also reports that Star Wars: The Old Republic has 1.7 million active subscribers and has sold more than two million units in just a little over a month.
